How we research, write, and update

Editorial Standards

We want Hooga’s educational content to be useful, clear, and honest about where the information comes from. We also want readers to know who is behind it. Hooga is a founder-led company, and our articles are written and maintained by people who work directly with our products and customers.

Who writes our content

Our founders and team create and update Hooga articles. The same small group that plans inventory, answers customer questions, develops products, fulfills orders, and handles returns also contributes to the practical guidance on this site.

Some older articles use “Hooga” or “Hooga Health” as the byline because they were published before we standardized our editorial process. Those company bylines refer to the Hooga team, not to an individual medical author. You can learn more about the people behind the company on our About Hooga page.

How we use sources

When an article discusses research, safety, or how a technology works, we look first for peer-reviewed studies, systematic reviews, government or regulatory guidance, and other primary or authoritative sources. We link to sources when they are useful to the reader and avoid treating a single study as settled proof.

Research can be early, limited, or specific to a particular device, wavelength, dose, or population. We try to say that plainly rather than stretching a finding beyond what was actually studied.

Firsthand experience and product knowledge

We use red light therapy and other Hooga products ourselves, and our team works with the products and hears from customers every day. That experience helps us explain setup, features, routines, and common questions in practical terms.

Firsthand experience is not the same as clinical evidence. When guidance comes from our own use, product testing, or customer conversations, we do not present it as proof that a product will produce the same result for everyone.

Commercial disclosure

Hooga sells many of the products discussed in our articles, and articles may link to Hooga products or collections. That is an important potential bias, so we state it directly. Our goal is to help readers understand the category and choose appropriately, even when the best answer is that a product may not be right for them.

Hooga is independently owned. We do not have outside investors or a corporate parent directing our editorial content.

Health claims and medical advice

Our content is educational and is not medical advice. We do not use articles to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease, and we do not substitute general information for guidance from a qualified healthcare professional. Readers with a medical condition, implanted device, medication concern, pregnancy, or other health question should speak with an appropriate clinician before starting a new wellness routine.

Updates and corrections

We review and update articles when product details change, better evidence becomes available, or a reader or team member identifies something that needs clarification. Article structured data includes the latest modification date so search engines and other systems can distinguish an updated page from its original publication date.

If you believe something is inaccurate, unclear, or out of date, please contact the Hooga team. We review correction requests and make changes when warranted.

Our standard

We will not always get every sentence perfect on the first try. Our standard is to be transparent about who we are, separate evidence from experience, acknowledge uncertainty, disclose our commercial interest, and correct the record when something changes.
